Therapeutic Support & Mentoring for Teenage Girls

What this support is

Alchemy Therapeutic offers two pathways of support for teenage girls:

  • Therapeutic sessions for girls who need deeper, stabilising support following trauma, relational harm, or emotional overwhelm

  • Mentoring sessions for girls who would benefit from a steady, supportive adult relationship during a period of transition, identity development, or return to school

Both approaches are trauma-aware, relational, and paced according to the young person’s needs.

Support is offered in a way that prioritises safety, dignity, and choice.

Therapeutic Sessions

Safety, Stability and Deeper Healing

Therapeutic sessions are designed for teenage girls who have experienced relational trauma, family violence, instability, or life circumstances that have been harmful to their wellbeing.

This work is more in-depth and begins by focusing on safety and stabilisation before moving into deeper therapeutic exploration.

Therapeutic support may include:

  • Building emotional and relational safety

  • Supporting nervous system balancing and stability

  • Processing trauma and its impacts at a pace that feels safe

  • Exploring attachment, boundaries, and relationships

  • Supporting identity development following harm or disruption

  • Collaboration with caregivers or professionals where appropriate

This pathway is often suited to girls who feel overwhelmed, dysregulated, shut down, or unsafe in themselves or their relationships, and who need a strong therapeutic foundation before moving forward.

Mentoring Sessions

Steady support, confidence, and connection

Mentoring sessions offer a non-clinical, relational space for teenage girls who may not want therapy, but who would benefit from consistent, supportive guidance during an important life transition or moment.

Mentoring is particularly well suited to girls who are:

  • Starting high school or returning to school

  • Navigating identity, belonging, or self-confidence

  • Experiencing stress, overwhelm, or disconnection

  • Needing a safe adult relationship without pressure

Mentoring focuses on:

  • Building trust and emotional safety through relationship

  • Supporting confidence, voice, and self-belief

  • Gentle exploration of identity, values, and boundaries

  • Supporting routines, transitions, and everyday challenges

  • Helping girls feel seen, respected, and believed

Mentoring does not require a diagnosis and does not involve deep trauma processing. It can be offered as a stand-alone support or alongside therapeutic work.

What’s the difference?

The difference between therapeutic sessions and mentoring sessions is depth and focus, not care or quality.

  • Therapeutic sessions are more structured and in-depth, with an initial focus on safety and stabilisation before moving into deeper therapeutic work.

  • Mentoring sessions are relational and supportive, focusing on presence, guidance, and confidence rather than therapeutic processing.

Both approaches are trauma-aware, paced, and grounded in relationship.
